You will;
  • Complete the "Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses" a WHO training course
  • Learn how to treat and diagnose common childhood diseases
  • Caring for malnourished Children
  • Problems of Children who are living in Institutional Care
  • Children at Risk
You will have "Hands on" experience where you will travel to tribal areas for medical outreaches and help care for the children in our orphanage.

The program will be lead by Pauline Curtis-Smith, Ruel Foundations Director for the Philippines. Pauline has completed training in Integrated Management of Childhood Illness with the World Health Organization and served in the Philippines for many years working with children in need.

The Ruel Foundation is a faith-based organization that reflects Christ's compassion for the poor and oppressed. There will also be a spiritual dynamic in the school during which time the students will pray together for the poor and needy.

Graduates will be issued with a Ruel Foundation certificate recognizing their achievements in completing the training, a CPR certificate, and an IMCI certificate from WHO. Opportunities will be provided to serve with the Ruel Foundation after course completion for successful applicants

Please note, if you attend both of these training schools you will receive a $400 discount

Inclusions

This includes all materials and equipments, training, outreach costs, travel to and from Mindoro from Manila, food and accommodation.

Ruel, our namesake, was found suffering from malnutrition in a hospital due to a cleft lip with cleft palate. He was unable to suckle properly or ingest food to satisfy his growing body. His mother could not afford the surgery to rectify this ailment, or the nutrients necessary to provide her child with an adequate diet. Thanks to the simple surgery to rectify this problem Ruel is now a happy and healthy little boy.
