How can I volunteer?

Applicants should be financially secure, have a genuine compassion for children and be a team player. There is no such thing as a "normal" day for a Ruel Foundation staff member and flexibility is vital as no two days are alike.

We currently have positions open for child-carers and administrators in the Philippines and marketing/events co-ordinator in our International Office in New Zealand. Ruel has a children's home on the beautiful island of Mindoro which is situated south of Manila. We need some loving people to help come and look after our kids. The minimum period to stay with us is three weeks for caregiving and three months for administration.  Because we are a charitable organisation no wages are paid. Ruel, our namesake, was found suffering from malnutrition in a hospital due to a cleft lip with cleft palate. He was unable to suckle properly or ingest food to satisfy his growing body. His mother could not afford the surgery to rectify this ailment, or the nutrients necessary to provide her child with an adequate diet. Thanks to the simple surgery to rectify this problem Ruel is now a happy and healthy little boy.
